Wonderful recipes and heartwarming words. I'm so glad I was able to order this before Christmas. Let the cooking begin!
I have tried several of the recipes in this book. The Tequila Lime Chicken Crepes were to die for not to mention the zucchini soup and the chicken salad. Too many good recipes to mention all.
This cookbook is amazing! It is hard to imagine that Stella is sharing all her wonderful recipes with the world - but I am certainly glad she did. It is sad that her tea room closed but the stories she shares with the recipes has you feeling as though you are in the tea room alongside her customers. A great gift for someone who enjoys cooking and reading sweet stories or a nice treat for yourself!
I was disappointed-this is a collection of recipes from a restaurant that calls it self a tea room, but is really just a small place to eat. It fits the definition of a 1950s tea room that is really a lunch room. It would be interesting to know if they know anything about good tea. The book does not have any real tea-related recipes (i.e., scones, savories, tea sandwiches, or small tea sweets), nor does the book contain anything about tea as a drink (history, making a good cuppa...). The recipes may be good-but I won't be using it as a resource for tea parties. Has some nice stories-but nothing to connect to tea.
